Welcome to Binat Shlomo
Founded by Rabbi Shalom Edery, Binat Shlomo is an 501(c)(3) organization that supports Garin Torani programs in Ramat Gan and Or Yehuda. Garin Torani is comprised of religious Zionists who settle in underdeveloped communities to help build up and strengthen the community through social and religious programming.
The organization is named after the great grandfather of founder Rabbi Shalom Edery, Tsaddik Rabbi Shlomo Ben Yitzchak Vaknin Z"L, who lived 130 years ago in Morocco. His great grandfather authored the Binat Shlomo books, as well as innovative commentaries of the Tanach and Parasha, and prayer interpretations. He also composed Shabbat and Holiday lectures and numerous unpublished manuscripts, which have been discovered in the recent years. Although Rabbi Shalom Edery never personally met his great grandfather, the Tsaddik, he was inspired by the stories about him, told through the generations.
Rabbi Shalom Edery feels privileged to be his descendent. He, too, studied in the Gateshead Yeshiva with Rabbi Moshe Schweb (zt"l) and Rabbi Matityahu Solomon shlit"a and in Netzah Yisroel Yeshiva in Jerusalem with Rabbi Guztman. After reading the book of gus great grandfather, he is committed to increase Torah learning and values in communities in Israel.
